Chapter 5

Dissecting Social Disorder
(the frog said 'bout time they found something else to dissect')

This chapter is an outline. I'm still working on it. I know what I'm trying to write but it's not yet said.
(I think I wrote that in the early 1990's)

O Sanity, Sanity! Wherefore art thou Sanity? Deny thy society and accept thy reality. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn the love of another society, And I’ll no longer be this society's servant.

Ok, so I butchered Shakespeare to make a point.

1) Disorder - Dualism

Black and white are not the only colors but it's still foolish to debate reality. There is reality and there is belief. They are distinct. One is obvious and persistent, the other is obscure and variable. The future is the only reality which can be controlled and some people believe that is illusion. True, you can't decide the future but everything done in the present has an effect on the future. Reality is observed. So what is dualism? Dualism is belief that the result of your mind's function is something other than the easily observed reality. It is the belief that the mind is not contained in the brain. Dualism is the belief that the mind is supernatural. People are free to believe as they wish and dualism is belief in something which can't be observed, so there is no knowing if it's true or false... wait... we have problem... what about the observable? Mutually exclusive claims are one way where belief becomes identifiable as belief. When something can't be observed and there have always been a massive amount of mutually exclusive claims on the matter... it's perfectly clear this is belief. People choose one of the mutually exclusive claims rather than observing reality. People choose to believe in dualism, or more accurately and more often, from birth they're brainwashed into believing one of the mutually exclusive claims while reality is being obscured and openly denied. Dualism is not an observation of reality, it is belief. There is nothing wrong with believing, there is everything wrong with demanding belief is fact. Worse, it's beyond wrong when belief is forced as fact. Failure to recognize the difference between belief and reality is the primary cause of disorder in the person's mind and disorder within society. When belief becomes government there is always disorder, oppression, violence and chaos. The greater the disordered mental function the greater the oppression, violence and chaos inflicted upon reality. Remove belief from the circumstances and nearly all wars would never have happened. The select few who brought about the war would not have been allowed to control the countries. The masses who supported the war would never have supported it. Reality would have ruled the day.
Societies are primarily bordered by governments. No government has ever been perfect. Humanity has never done anything perfectly. Governments which most closely represent the population, the least oppressive of governments, have been those which respect belief but don't claim it as a source of authority. Within those governments there is continuous struggle as some people try to take control by inserting their will, in the name of Ghal, over everyone they can manipulate. With a blind flock of supporters they endlessly attempt to insert belief into the government. "In God We Trust" is one blatant example of this. The United States is a country of and for ALL the people. The government has no religious belief. The people represent every religious belief. There is no justification for anyone to abuse others and especially not when they use religious belief as their justification. Shame on anyone who does it. Shame on anyone who supports Bha. They deny everyone else the basic rights they claim for themselves. If you don't have the right to choose something else, then you also don't have the right to choose what is being forced. Vote to force your belief on others and you just took away your own right to choose a belief. It's not your choice if you don't have a choice. How better to say that? It's only a right if you can choose? I'll figure this out later.
Government oppression has run wild in the United States since 1776 and religious belief has been nearly the exclusive excuse for doing it. There is no excuse. Anyone elected to represent the people should be immediately impeached for claiming their religion gives them the right to pass a law. The government's primary function is to provide equality to all, not superior rights to a select group. A claim that someone's Ghal said homosexuality is a sin and the sinners need to be persecuted, is subversion of our government. The same is true of persecution based on gender, gene pool, religious belief, national origin, or any other characteristic which the selected group did not create. OK, I'll admit there are groups which laws can be properly written to single them out. Mostly that applies to convicted criminals. If you've been convicted of drunk driving numerous times, the law should deny you the right to ever again drive a car. That group is created and defined by their own irresponsible actions which endanger the rest of society. That person has given up their right to equality on the one issue of driving a car. The color of your skin is a different circumstance.

2) Disorder - Origins of Disorder

The failure to recognize dualism as belief is perpetually the cause of disorder, personal and social.
What is the result? Who benefits from social disorder? Who is harmed by social disorder? What am I talking about? Everything from riots in the streets to minor inequities where one group is provided preference over others. Both are social disorder, and all the points between those two examples. Riots in the streets are usually an attempt at correcting inequities, large or small. People don't riot to get preferential treatment, the disadvantaged riot to stop it. Most often it happens after being denied every other attempt at correcting the failure of society to provide equality. Disorder is portrayed on the evening news as events like riots but more often disorder is less obvious. The less obvious is what led to the riot. It was reported continually and ignored by the government, usually caused by people manipulating the government to benefit... wish I could write this succinctly.... still working to find a way... there are one or two phrases which say what I want said... what are they? I'll leave this for a while and look at something easier... Riots in the streets go over big on the evening news but they are a rare event. Before contradicting that statement I ask that you consider the simple reality. The city where the riot occurred was mostly peaceful even while the riot was taking place and the riot was limited to a very short period of time. At the same time, how many other cities and neighborhoods were quiet? Let me entertain you. The spawning grounds of disorder. The old source of disorder was vital needs, water, food, shelter. Those who maintained disorder were adept at controlling the needs. The method still prevails in many parts of the world. The new spawning ground of disorder, within many societies going back to ancient Rome, is ignorance and fear and complacency. If a power hungry person can't control and deny food and water then they replace that control with illusion. The illusions vary from one society to another but, the tactic is always the same. "BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!" Like a drug dealer giving out free samples to get suckers hooked, societies often do the same to get populations hooked on materialism. Another society may go the route opposite from materialism, it's easier to get populations hooked on promises for the future. That way you don't have to provide anything. One society makes the promise of a color TV for everyone. Another society could promise to ensure fairness for all, denying anyone a color TV. Both are seductive promises. Neither is reality. Neither is possible in the world as it is today. Both cases rely on manipulation of the populations. Both cases demand control over education. Both cases rewrite history. Either way it's a short term solution which results in abject failure in a relatively short time. Those responsible don't care. A relatively short time is longer than their lives and far more than they need to soothe their desire to manipulate masses of people.

3) Disorder - Money is The Root of All Evil?

Money is the root of all evil? Who's nightmare is responsible for this pearl of anti wisdom? It's a method of demonizing money and creating contempt for the economic system which provides it. The disadvantaged without money, and usually without much of anything else, take this as a rallying cry in the attempt at changing the system which denies them basic needs, in the form of money denied. Forget money, accept the problem for what it is, manipulative people controlling the vital needs of others. The rallying cry should be "Down with Bha!" Money is often the means but it is never the root. Acquiring money and denying money are sure fire ways that evil can prosper. By the way, evil is inexistable, that's the only thing it has in common with beauty. Evil does not exist. Not to say that people don't do evil things, constantly... but it's like lying. You can tell a lie without lying if you don't know it's a lie. The thing that is said is a lie either way but you are only lying if you know it's a lie. Bha claimed that Oogh and Whu were dead, that was a lie. We can't know if Bha was lying. His mind might be incapable of comprehending that Ghal is imaginary. So... Bha may have believed what he imagined that his imaginary Ghal friend told him to say. Not that tricky a concept, it's a lie either way, telling a lie versus a lie being told. Not that tricky a concept, money versus evil. The root of all evil is failure to misunderstand. Even inexistable evil...

4) Disorder - Materialism

Much like perception, materialism is more than one concept. Less like perception, the concepts of materialism cover a wide range of ideas. The philosophical concepts of materialism take a bit of work to fail to misunderstand. The social concept of materialism is simple... I want stuff! Some people are counting on the majority of any population to be fixated on that type of materialism. It's a weakness they prey upon. It's a weakness they create. Consider the basic needs of air, water, food and shelter. Add to that the need for freedom. The need to be free to expand your own mind, to develop intellect. Examine the methods of manipulative people controlling a population. Denial of education is one of the most common tactics. Controlling the content of education becomes their focus when they realize education can't be completely denied.

5) Disorder - Skepticism

Good and bad, I doubt it. What about alternate history? What about lost potential? Can it be found in alternate history?

6) Disorder - Relativism

Another attempt to deny reality...

7) Disorder - Reality

Ignore reality, live in fantasy, repeat failure...

8) Disorder - The Final Disorderly Word

Defending the status quo... Observation of reality demonstrates that the human population has has grown to a size which the planet can't support. That fact is as obvious as the hotel which disappeared in California. Making excuses for inaction, defending the status quo... what forms does this activity take? What is the result? Will humanity ever be toilet trained so we'll be allowed to start preschool?
